Black lives matter
Our community and our nation are hurting.
Arlington Charities stands proudly with everyone who is fighting against police brutality and racial inequality. We are deeply saddened and disturbed by the horrific circumstances surrounding the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, and the countless other black individuals in the past and present months as well as the violence that has been enacted against peaceful protestors nationwide. At Arlington Charities, we have always made it our duty to serve the needy in our community regardless of race, because hunger is a problem that affects everyone. We encourage all Arlington locals in need of help to call 817-215-1511 during normal business hours to make an appointment.
Arlington Charities strives to be a positive force in our local community, and we want to extend that energy to this important global movement. We will aim to highlight and partner with local charities run by persons of color or that serve persons of color as their core community. We will also examine our own practices to see how we can better assist Arlington’s black community.
It takes a community to make a change and through community actions there have been many positive changes already. We applaud those in our community who have been standing up peacefully and being positive advocates for change. We encourage you to stay educated on racial inequality in your community, and to actively research ways you can help.
For our part, we will continue to support positive change and remain committed to leading the fight against hunger and poverty in our community. Providing help, creating hope.
