Home Delivery Driver

Arlington Charities is hiring a part-time (23 hours/week) Home Delivery Driver. No CDL required.

 

Position Summary: Assist the Home Delivery Program by driving groceries to homebound clients. This position reports to the Home Delivery Coordinator and the Program Director.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:30-11:30 a.m..

Responsibilities:

  • Sort and assemble home delivery boxes/bags and load onto delivery van.

  • Drive delivery van to client’s home or apartment and unload boxes/bags, typically 15-20 per day. This also includes a few senior facilities requiring 40-50 deliveries to these sites.

  • Assist Delivery Coordinator with designing, updating, and maintaining delivery routes and schedules.

  • Communicate with Delivery Coordinator any issues with clients or special requests.

  • Communicate with Operations Manager any issues with delivery van (oil changes, tires, etc.)

  • Refer clients to other community resources as needed.

  • Assist with warehouse duties when needed or other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to lift boxes up to 40 lbs. on a daily basis.

  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.

  • Ability to work as a team member, supporting all agency events and initiatives.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
