Terry Doak

Terry Doak has been volunteering with Arlington Charities for seven years. She has always worked in the pantry and her favorite part is interacting with the clients. During our Thanksgiving and Christmas distributions, she loves interviewing clients about their situation and having such a positive impact on their holidays. Outside of Arlington Charities, Terry works with First United Methodist Church’s Genesis Sunday School class. For five years Terry has worked with the class to collect donations of toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and dish soap. Every month, these donations are gifted to Arlington Charities to stock our pantry. Hygiene items are very popular at Arlington Charities; however, most of our community partnerships are food based so they are not as well stocked. Efforts such as Terry’s go a long way to keeping these items in our pantry and we could not be more grateful.

Terry is most inspired by the “quality and quantity of donations that are given to clients.” She asserts that Arlington Charities is by far “the best charity she’s ever worked with.” Terry is always quick to tell her community about Arlington Charities and recruit more volunteers. “People that volunteer up here have such giving hearts and there is an immediate gratification from helping” she concludes confidently.
