J. Gilligan's Bar and Grill is featured in many shows such as PBS' The Day Tripper, The Travel Channel, Food Network, and even ESPN U-Roadtrip.

The restaurant is known for its world famous Irish Nachos, made with Wisconsin cheese and hand cut fresh potatoes, and its green beer during their annual Saint Patrick's Day Block Parties (a tradition held since 1979).
